Is it ethical for an MLM company to sell their own products via big retail stores as well?

I have been doing some research as of late and discovered that one of the major MLM companies has chosen to distribute their products via some of the largest retail stores.  I am wondering if this is an ethical step for them to take since their distributors are seeking to make money selling them as well?
