Ok, you have your first subscriber on you list, now what?

Let's say you are promotign a make money online program/ebooks,video on your capture page and get your first subscriber. What should you do next?

1. To build a long relation of trust  that can takes weeks/months and then start promoting money making products. or

2. To help your susbcriber by putting in front of him/her the best money making products that you know ?

You have first offer value.  Know their pain points and offer as many free resources, tips, advice that work, etc.  first as possible.  These can be done through a set of autoresponder emails.  Just keep in mind that whatever they opted into, that is the information you should supply.

After a few emails, you can offer affiliate programs that are free that have helped you - again stay on the same subject that your subscriber opted in for.

Based on your scenario presented, be sure after redirect from your splashpage you take them straight to the product or gift you promise the subscribers other wise that is one of the quickest way and reason for them to unsubscribe from you as they would see that all your intent was is to have them join and build their list. Strive to always be honest and provide value added content both free and paid while being honest and protective of the members of your list. List swaps is another reason for people to unsubscribe from you as members of a list  would then believe you simply gave out their information to other sources or people online.

Like Kris aforementioned, your subscriber had something in mind when he/she opted in.

How you build the next stage will either switch the person off or on.

To do this well, let your prospect know the purpose of the email and the benefits he/she will incur from it.

Don't bring your business opportunity first. First build trust. Give resources that can aid his/her business and give it time.

If you build a good relationship you may have sales for a lifetime.
